Welcome to My First Blog!

Today, I’d like to share a brief overview of my sewing journey. I’m pretty sure my future blog posts will be more detailed—and hopefully more interesting—but here’s a glimpse into how it all began and how it’s evolved over the years.

Like many my age, I learned to sew in junior high and received my first sewing machine in college. Since then, my sewing journey has gone through several distinct phases:

Phase One – Sewing for Myself

This is where it all started. Simple patterns, trial and error, and lots of learning.

Phase Two – Sewing Home Décor

Pillows, curtains, and other decorative touches for the home became my next area of focus.

Phase Three – Sewing Children’s Clothes

As my family grew, so did my interest in creating clothing for little ones.

Phase Four – Sewing Costumes

Not just Halloween costumes! I spent 10 years sewing costumes for high school musicals—some of my most creative and challenging work.

Phase Five – Sewing Formal Wear

From prom dresses to evening gowns, this phase brought precision and patience to a whole new level.

Phase Six – Running an Online Business

I launched an online shop selling custom-made covers for craft, office, and kitchen equipment. This gave me the chance to connect with customers and build a business from my hobby.

Phase Seven – Weekend Projects for Fun

Now, I enjoy tackling small projects just for the fun of it—no deadlines, no pressure, just creativity.

My most recent project was this blouse, made from a pattern I bought a few years ago. It felt great to finally bring it to life!
