Welcome back!
My latest not-for-profit project was a tutu for my good friend's new daughter, whose expected birth date is next week. I am sooo excited! This tutu was made from leftover costume fabric. The only thing more rewarding than using fabric from my stash is using leftover fabric.
Currently, I’m spending time planning handcrafted Christmas presents. My mother, at 97, has been filtering through her stash and sent me this fun “Pocket Prayer” project. It’s a gift for three faithful prayer companions. I'm sure I can finish them in time — and may attempt more than the three included in the kit for other friends.
My first priority, however, is the McCall's 7638 hooded jacket for my son. My mother had this beautiful black corduroy in her stash, and I’m pairing it with a rich burgundy knit.
Next on my list is a jacket for my mother. She gave me some fabric that she “loves” but reluctantly admitted she'll never use. For the lining, I’m using a beige fabric from Italy that she gave me years ago — originally a gift from a friend who had visited Italy.
